There are no specific factors such as age, gender, or physical condition that correlate with susceptibility to altitude sickness. Some people get it and some people don't, and some people are more susceptible than others. Since we are going to 5500 meters and very few people have been to such altitudes, it is hard to know who may be affected. Taking these factors into account, we are going to take a rest for a day so as to get accustomed to the altitude.
We will do small hiking to the local village and local school to keep our bodies fresh and active. The most exciting part of this day is to observe breathtaking views of different peaks including Kwangde (6,011m), Thamserku (6,623m), Kangtega (6,782m), Nuptse (7,861m), Lhotse (8,516m), Ama Dablam (6,812m) and, of course, Mount Everest (8,848m).
